my weekend
went to the bucketworks art show @ uwm, i forget just who posted it on here, but a few familiar faces looked to be involved. i didn't recognize any while there, but my we found the art pretty cool. certainly way better than i'd expected. lots of variety, lots of originality--there were several little touches or techniques i have to admit not seeing before. there was an odd peice that had both glass and fabric with the same image overlayed blurredly on one, the other, or both, and where they bled together it got all convoluded. i liked it. brian (on my friendslist) liked the cricket made outta smoking equipment, it definetly was the most attention getting of them all. there was something about the brand lable on the leg joints that he thought was in very good taste, too.
went drinkin, came home, played halflife till 8am, and totally wrecked the chances of a productive saturday ^^ thankfully, i finally beat it so i can put it down. fun game, i only hit one or two a year that i'll play all the way through.
watched the last samurai. what a great BAD movie. the dialog is 1 step better than "insert inspirational speech here". at the end, the emperor sees the error of his ways and gives this tear-jerker "we must not forget who we are or where we come from" jeeeez that's uncreative. just about everything else about the movie kicked ass tho, i'm surprised i didn't spend the movie pissed the last samurai is tom cruise.
took my buddy lester for our usual sunday eats, and we had the whole calderone club to ourselves. that place is run by an italian family that treats us like celebrities. they asked us to their christmas party on the 13th, and it should be quite a scene since they'll close the doors and kick loose with a buffet so noone has to work. you'd think the little old grandma would be the character, but no, she's serious as a heart attack, and the rest of them are goofs ^^
i've been wasting way too much time arguing politics lately too, but it's been fun.. or ar least engrossing ^^
other people have been posting the most interesting shit in their blogs lately, but i haven't had anything worthwhile to comment on them
