roadtrip to eden prairie MN

tripped out to MN for a day to pick up my brother's daughter. i left myself one day to tool around my former highschool town hitting a bunch of the old hangouts.

they took out the frisbee golf course i STARTED on!! lone lake is no more. they put in a much nicer one just a few miles away, but i'm crushed that i won't be able to go hit my old home anymore. i hit a total of 5 courses friday, and it was pleasing to see how much better i am then when i left.

hit a bunch of other old hangouts. near uptown in minneapolis, there's a secret beach you have to walk through the woods to get to. i know how to get there driving, but i'm just guessing when i link the map here. there's natural clay pits there, and usually people having fun. often hippies, and i can remember ninja-ing away a few times when the 5-0 decided to have a hippy-raid and start chasing people through the midnight woods. used to skinnydip there with the best girlfriend i ever had.

hit the uptown famous daves, they've still got the best ribs. the one in brookfield wi probably takes second place. their stage is tops though, and they've always got a great act (even their sunday ameture night kicks a lot of ass) whereas the brookfield one's made out of a old ponderosa and is way too small.

at midnight, i was lucky enough to find my way by memory to the old movie theatre my friends and i used to go to every friday night at midnight because they'd show hongkong kungfu movies and serve ramen and a buncha other crap. they were open at least, but they were showing new movies, and the attendant hadn't heard of the kungfu thing. sigh, i guess all my favorite things are fading away.

my house fell through

i was trying to buy a house in west milwaukee / wauwatosa, but it fell through. it kept stretching and stretching time-wise, and i got sick of unknowns late in the game when i need a place. the first inspector took a look at the basement and said "get a basement inspector". i did, the sellers said "no basement inspector." i said "no deal then", and actually had to cancel the appointment & offer to purchase because inspection time is run out. they call back a day after it's dead and say "tellyawhat, if we do everything you've been bugging us for, will you reconsider?" so i'm like @_@ yeah. basement inspector gets there, looks outside, goes inside for 3 mins and then is all "here's your money back, i'm not writing a report, go get a foundation engineer." so oy, the foundation engineer says "i might need you to remove lots of the drywall, i'll come out for 160$ just to tell you IF, then an inspection's 300$ after that." even tho that sounds shitty to me, i set that up since i've gone this far, wait and wait AGAIN for the nonresponsive seller('s lawyer actually), and cancelled the deal yet again because the due date's up.

so now i have to find an apartment by saturday pretty much. think i got that squared tho, i'm pretty sure i found a good short term (6 mo's as short as they go) apartment down not far from my intended house, on state st near the hawley bridge. schmultzy gated apts EXACTLY like i really enjoyed senior yr of college w/ roommates, only i can afford alone now ^^ hottub & workout ctr. here i come~

dealin with every damn form of upkeep i can conceive of lately, and i hate upkeep. choosing rent/home/car insurance, hittin the DMV, gettin a uhaul & storeage, packin my shit, getting progress at work AND handling all the ppl's problems as they bring them to me.. i reiterate my wish for 36 hour days. i don't mind doing it at all, but need lots more sleep, a little more relaxing too.
